Evalex to participate and exhibit at the 2024 SIOPSA conference

Evalex will attend and present at the highly prestigious 26th Annual SIOPSA conference between 17 and 19 July 2024. The overall conference theme is “Mindful Organisations, Productive People: Cultivating a Culture of Mental Health and Wellness”.

The world of work is changing rapidly due to factors such as artificial intelligence, hybrid work arrangements, and global crises like the COVID-19 pandemic.  These changes can impact mental health, especially in South Africa where workplace stress is widespread. Industrial and Organisational Psychologists (IOPs) are essential in designing interventions prioritising well-being and productivity.

The SIOPSA 2024 Annual Conference aims to bring together experts to devise effective strategies to ensure psychological well-being and productivity in the workplace.

Evalex is a very proud sponsor at this year’s conference, with an online presence on the Whova app, as well as a physical exhibition stand at the in-person event from 17 to 19 July at the Wanderers Club, Johannesburg.

Evalex will be involved in four sessions at the conference:

Our CEO, Dr Pieter Bronkhorst, will participate in a panel discussion on 18 July entitled “Enhancing Productivity through AI-Driven Selection”.

Pieter will also present with Jaco de Jager, our AI Product Development Specialist, on 18 July on “The Role of Talent Assessment in Occupational Mental Health: A Changing Landscape”.

Our Business Development Director, David Bischof, is the current Chair for People Assessments in Industry (PAI), a SIOPSA interest group. Along with the PAI committee, David will present the results of a recent survey conducted with assessment practitioners. The presentation is entitled “A Practitioner’s Perspective and Insights on The Current South African Assessment Landscape” and takes place on 17 July.

David is also the current Chair for Assessment Standards South Africa (ASSA), and he will participate in a panel discussion on 19 July entitled “Towards Establishing Best Practices in Psychological Assessment in SA: The ASSA Test Review System”.

We look forward to seeing all our clients and colleagues at this exciting event, so please contact us to set up a coffee if you will be attending!
